Decorative Fall Challenge

This Fall, I am going to challenge myself.  I want to redecorate both of my kid’s room and keep it under $200.00! The challenge is to buy new bedding, wall art, and accessories and not go over $200.00 for both rooms. Themed bedroom accessories can get really expensive and it will add up really fast! Instead of buying everything brand spanking new like I did last time, I’m hoping to find some awesome thrift store finds and re-purpose a lot of things. I also want to take on some projects like maybe creating some wall shelves etc. This is going to be difficult but I think I can do it. I am hoping to have both of the rooms completed by Christmas. My kids have brought it to my attention that they’re out growing their bedroom’s current theme. My daughter no longer wants pink or the (Princess Theme) and my son thinks Disney Cars is too babyish for him. My daughter is thinking of going with purple as the color scheme and she’s pretty much organized. My son hasn’t made up his mind and can also use a little help when it comes to being organized LOL.  He’s a typical little boy who loves throwing his stuff all over the floor! I’ll do before and after photos once I complete the challenge.

Below I have included some photos of their rooms. Any theme suggestions would be greatly appreciated especially for my son! Please excuse the clutter. We are human LOL!

We’re thinking about going purple next time! I also need some more storage for her closets.

We had to put her chest dresser in the closet on other side of room because of limited space!

Yes my son didn’t make his bed and his closet is empty LOL! (doesn’t hang clothes up)

If any of you ladies have boys that are around 10 years old that has a bedroom theme, please let me know. My kiddo is being really indecisive at the moment. I saw some really beautiful rooms in the houzz kid’s room app on my iPad that I can draw inspiration from. (I’m an app junky) My son loves Legos so I’m thinking about drawing some inspiration from the photo below:

I am also thinking about moving him up to a full-sized bed but that is not included in the challenge. I haven’t made up my mind yet. I love the shade of purple that’s in the photo below. This would be a beautiful shade to go with for my daughter’s room!

If you’re planning on redecorating your kid’s rooms or another room in your home, please feel free to take the Fall Challenge with me! Your budget could be totally different and if you have any suggestions, please send them my way. :)
